Tl;dr: Hire them. As I was about to leave my house for work this morning I was frustrated to discover our garage door would only go up about a third of the way. After realizing it would not easily go up after pulling the release from our opener I knew this was a job for a professional. A quick Google search led me to Precision. Not only was I able to get an appointment today, the set up for the appointment was easy, the YouTube video that was sent to me explained what I was to expect was a surprising plus but, most importantly, there was currently a $0 service fee as I knew I was about to probably drop more than I wanted on this situation. Not only did precision get their 20 minutes ahead of schedule but their contractor, Mike, was phenomenal. He explained everything that he was doing, broke it down by cost options so I knew the highest I would pay was versus what would just get my garage door working. He showed up ready to complete the job that day and did just that. He verified if we had any military or teacher discounts, worked efficiently and then explained everything that he had done after he had completed the job. (10/10 will ask for Mike again.) Could I have probably shopped around for a cheaper option? Sure. Could I have done it myself? Maybe but the concept of the torque in those springs is terrifying to me, personally. The final price that was quoted for replacing the entirety of the bar, springs, ball bearings, line, and basically every that make the door function aside from the motor/opener was $2600 out the door with a 5 year warranty.
